Lucid already issued a software upgrade for its recently released Gravity SUV, with a new trailer light check feature that helps drivers ensure their trailer lights are working properly.
The Gravity’s energy consumption graph and range map have also been adjusted to be easier to read.
Lucid is also letting Gravity owners access beta versions of its Live View and Drive Recorder, letting owners check on their SUVs via the phone app and save video clips of driving moments.
Lucid Motors, the California-based startup that has been selling its sleek electric Air sedan since the 2022 model year, only recently started production of its second model, the Gravity SUV. Although initial deliveries were limited to employees, the electric three-row finally started reaching customers over the past few months, but now Lucid is already rolling out a series of small upgrades, launching a software update for its new SUV.

The Lucid Gravity will now run UX 3.3, bringing new features to make towing easier as well as improvements to the user interface. The Gravity offers a tow package that allows it to haul up to 6000 pounds, and features an integrated trailer brake control, which works with trailers that use electronic brakes, and a hitch camera view that lets the driver keep an eye on the hitch while on the move. Now, Lucid has introduced a trailer light check feature, which allows trailer lights to illuminate in sequence, making it easier to confirm that all lights are working correctly. The feature can also be activated from the Lucid phone application.
Lucid has also made the Gravity’s user interface easier to navigate, creating a new bookmark tile for the home screen so drivers can pin a destination, making it an easy one-tap action to route to a favorite destination. The Energy application in the Gravity now features new display options for the energy consumption graph, while the range map has been tweaked to better show how far you can travel on your remaining battery charge. Lucid also says the audio system has been optimized to provide clearer sound when making a phone call, reducing background noise so the person you’re calling can hear you better.

Gravity owners also get early access to two new features for the Halo Secure function, which allows you to monitor the car from the app. The Live View function uses the external cameras on the SUV to stream real-time video to the phone application, while the Drive Recorder feature saves video clips of significant events, as long as the driver has hooked up a USB storage device.
Lucid says crash events are automatically recorded, and drivers can select which other events they want the Drive Recorder to capture. Both of these features are still in beta testing, and Lucid says that after this year, the Live View feature will only be available through a subscription.
